I finally took the plunge and got my own server.
Up until recently I’ve used reseller accounts, but now that I’ve decided to get serious about working from home, I don’t want to have to worry about downtime or reseller account limits. A week ago I got my own server, and today I finished moving all my sites onto it.
I’ve put less than a month of real effort into working from home, and already I’m making enough to pay for a server. I wish I had started doing this a year ago!
It’s fine to start out with free hosting, but once you get serious about working from home you have to get serious about hosting. I’m getting my server from HostHead, which comes highly recommended by some other webmasters I know, and already they have shown me they are great (I messed something up on the server screwing around with stuff I didn’t really know about, and they fixed it for me for free). So if you’re looking for hosting, check them out.
