July 20, 2010 How do/did

Today’s task is to make a list, and last week I thought up a list of my goals to post today… now I have achieved most of them. However I will still post it, and tell you how I achieved them.

  1. Get an adsense payment
  2. Get an iphone
  3. Get someone a birthday present

1. GiveiPhone pushed me over the threshold (that’s the right phrase, isn’t it?), I will be getting an adsense payment next month. I wish I had started it sooner… If I had started it a few days earlier, I would have already have the payment.

2. Again thanks to GiveiPhone I will be getting… well not quite an iPhone, but a Sciphone soon.

3. Not going to go into details on that one ;)

I used some tips from Facebook Marketing: An Hour a Day and built up a small following for GiveiPhone on facebook. I made a twitter and linked it to the facebook. Then I just sat back and let the fans do the advertising for me. Their friends saw it, and they became fans, they followed the twitter, and people who wanted to donate found it and donated. I tried facebook ads, but didn’t get any clicks. I guess people are more willing to go to something a friend liked or recommended than an ad! So soon I will be getting a sciphone (unless I get a large iPhone donation within the next couple of hours – so if you would prefer me to get an iphone, get over there!) and changing to taking donations for service for the phone.
